Why AER is part of the Cohesion Alliance
The #CohesionAlliance is a coalition of those who believe that EU cohesion policy must continue to be a pillar of the EU’s future. It was created through cooperation between the leading European associations of cities and regions and the European Committee of the Regions.
After the successful campaign to secure a central role for Cohesion Policy in the 2021-27 EU long-term budget, AER continues to contribute to the Alliance’s efforts to mainstream and consolidate Cohesion as a key objective for all EU policies.

Respond to the broad online consultation on the future role and design of cohesion policy. This will help the #CohesionAlliance to develop a sound proposal on the future of Cohesion Policy envisaged for early 2024, ahead of the 9th Cohesion Report and the European elections. The survey will remain open until 15 May 2023.
